Boy Scout starts program to get kids interested in tennis
CHESTERFIELD, Va. (WTVR) – It is a story that would make Richmond native Arthur Ashe proud.
A local Boy Scout is trying to get more youngsters interested in tennis.
Eagle Scout candidate J.C. Lariviere started the “4 Hands 4 Kids” program, partnering Cosby High School with Crenshaw Elementary.
J.C. collected thousands of dollars in donations from local businesses, and used it to buy more than 50 new racquets, shirts, bags and tennis balls for Crenshaw students.
The students are also being coached by varsity tennis players from Cosby.
