TAIPEI, Taiwan (CNN) – Taiwanese protesters, lead by the country’s Consumer’s Foundation, threw meat at a poster of Uncle Sam on Monday.

The protest took place outside the Taiwan’s cabinet building in Taipei.

Protesters have questioned government assurances that U.S. beef treated with ractopamine is harmless.
