OAKWOOD, Ga. (WTVR) – A text message auto-corrected by an iPhone led to the lockdown of two schools in Georgia Wednesday, reported WXIA in Atlanta. Investigators said a college student was texting a friend that he was “gunna be at West Hall.” The software changed the text to read, “Gunman to be at West Hall.” To complicate matters, police said the student who wrote the text also accidentally sent it to the wrong person. The person who received the text didn’t know what was going on and called police. The schools were on lockdown for several hours. But after a thorough investigation, police determined there was no malicious intent. It is likely no charges will be filed.
