HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WTVR) – Police arrested a man and a woman accused in a series of home break-ins, Henrico Police spokesman Lt. Eric Owens wrote in a press release.

Benjamin O. Heslep, 25, and Michele S. Rintoul, 22, both of Henrico, were arrested January 18 and charged with burglary, grand larceny, larceny with intent to sell, and conspiracy for each charge in four incidents.  Other charges are pending, Owens noted.

Owens said the pair was responsible for the “dramatic increase” in breaks-in that occurred in county’s West End over the last several weeks. Owens did not initially release specific areas where the crimes occurred.

The pair would break into homes during the afternoon when the homeowner and neighbors were gone, Owens said.

A tip to police helped investigators develop their suspects. Police said they arrested the duo immediately after they broke into a home.
