RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) – One person was killed Friday afternoon after a shooting off Bassett Avenue at the Ashton Square apartments, near Westover Hills Boulevard.

Police said they arrived and found the man shot dead next to a car in the apartment parking lot around 4:15 p.m.

During their investigation, detectives learned that another man with an apparent gunshot wound had arrived at a local hospital by car shortly after the male was found at Ashton Square.

That man, who is currently a person of interest, is being questioned in connection with the homicide.
