RICHMOND, Va. - Cold and dry air will continue to move into the region tonight through Thursday as strong high pressure settles into the central U.S.
A quick-moving upper-level disturbance will spread snowfall through southern Virginia Thursday afternoon and evening.
The highest snowfall accumulations will occur along the North Carolina line into Hampton Roads, where a winter storm watch is currently in effect.
A light accumulation is possible in the Richmond area, and with temperatures falling into the mid 20s Friday morning, slick travel will be possible.
Expect cold sunshine on Friday, with moderating temperatures Saturday through Monday.
Another storm system will bring a good chance of rain to the area on Monday. The pattern appears mild, despite the rainfall, with highs reaching the 60s on Tuesday and Wednesday.
