A dry and mild holiday weekend on the way

RICHMOND, Va. -- Patchy clouds will be around overnight, with lows ranging from the mid 20s to the low 30s.

Saturday will offer a little sunshine, with plenty of clouds around much of the day. Highs will be in the low and mid 50s. We'll see more sunshine on Sunday, with afternoon highs in the upper 50s. Overnight lows will range from the mid to upper 20s in rural communities to the low and mid 30s in the metro area and along the coast.

The mild weather continues for Christmas Day, with a mix of sun and clouds. Highs will be around 60. Then our next storm will arrive on Tuesday, with periods of rain, especially during the afternoon into the night. The rain will linger on Wednesday, mainly during the morning.

Thursday will be variably cloudy with a lingering shower possible, then dry and cooler air moves in by Friday.
