RICHMOND, Va. -- Today will be a mild day with a few non-threatening clouds and highs in the upper 40s to lower 50s. Winds will start to mildly shift from the southeast this afternoon ahead of our next storm system.
We are tracking a strong cold front for Thursday, Christmas Eve. It will be windy and much warmer with highs in the upper 50s to mid 60s. A strong cold front will pass through Thursday night into Friday morning. Rain showers start Thursday afternoon with the potential of a few storms late Thursday night. The threats will be strong gusts of wind and the potential for an additional 0.5" to 1" of rainfall. A few flurries may be in the air for Christmas morning for our western counties. It will be blustery and cold Friday, with highs in the upper 30s and lower 40s.
Next weekend looks dry and cool with highs in the 30s and lower 40s. Lows will be in the upper teens and lower 20s.
