RICHMOND, Va. — Joe Bamisile's 29 points off of the bench helped lead VCU to an 85-61 victory against Saint Louis on Friday night.
Bamisile also added five rebounds for the Rams (11-7, 3-2 Atlantic 10 Conference). Max Shulga scored 15 points, shooting 4 for 10 (1 for 4 from 3-point range) and 6 of 7 from the free throw line. Jason Nelson was 3 of 6 shooting and 6 of 8 from the free throw line to finish with 13 points.
The Billikens (8-10, 1-4) were led in scoring by Sincere Parker, who finished with 21 points, two steals and two blocks. Saint Louis also got 10 points from Terrence Hargrove Jr.. In addition, Kellen Thames finished with nine points.
VCU took the lead with 10:19 remaining in the first half and never looked back. Bamisile led his team in scoring with 11 points in the first half to help put them up 36-26 at the break. VCU pulled away with a 7-0 run in the second half to extend a 12-point lead to 19 points. They outscored Saint Louis by 14 points in the final half, as Bamisile led the way with a team-high 18 second-half points.
VCU's next game is Tuesday against Loyola Chicago at home. Saint Louis hosts Davidson on Wednesday.
