CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va – Former L.C. Bird standout and current Detroit Lion Safety Jalen Elliott returned to his alma mater Saturday to host his first we are uno youth football camp.
Campers from around Central Virginia participated in drills taught by Elliott and his former Skyhawk and Notre Dame teammates.
Hosting the event at the field where he led L.C. Bird to the 2014 state championship brought back some special memories for Elliott. He hopes the camp gives some of those same types of memories to the new generation of athletes.
Elliott said the goal was to teach kids the fundamentals of the game as well as “having a good time.”
“Summer’s just starting, so we caught them at the perfect time. They’re ready to get out of the house,” Elliott said. “So we’re just thankful that we were able to get to the area and able to do it."
