CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. -- A Chesterfield man's bike riding initiative raised more than $4,000 to help buy meals and provide WiFi hotspots to children in need.

In April, Chesterfield resident Bobby Kelland along with others, rode 40 miles along West Creek Parkway in a charity bike ride.

During the lead up to the ride, Kelland rallied support from around the community and was able to raise $4,165 dollars for the Chesterfield Food Bank and Chesterfield Education Foundation’s Emergency Response Fund

These funds will be used exclusively to provide food for those who need it and assist with purchasing WiFi hotspots for children to do their schoolwork.

And while the bike ride may be completed, Bobby’s fundraiser is still accepting donations through Friday, May 15.
