PETERSBURG, Va. -- Petersburg Police Chief Kenneth Miller has a message on how you can start your week off on the right foot and why Mondays hold the keys to success.

Chief Miller appeared on CBS 6 News at 4 to provide this week's Monday Motivation.

"Hello, I'm Chief Kenneth Miller, Petersburg Bureau of Police. What a wonderful day. It's Monday.

So, what do we do about Monday. We start off our day.

Monday is the way we our week is going to go. If our Mondays are strong our Tuesdays through Fridays to Saturdays are going to be strong.

So, how do we start off strong?

Through health, to mental and through work. Spiritually, most important for me spiritually.

From a physical standpoint, getting my exercise in. I started off this morning, I got my miles in. I got my strength training in and most importantly, I had peace with my family making sure my wife and my children and my grandchildren are really on the go and they're really excited about Mondays too.

I believe if I get my Monday started off and kicked off properly, my family will be kicked off right, my work staff will be kicked off right.

Let's talk about work. How do I get work from Monday through Saturday? Wow, Monday through Saturday's a long time, not so much.

If our Mondays are really good and we start off strong on Mondays, working effortlessly, doing our due diligence and making sure that we're providing a service for our community, making sure that we're being the best role models, performing the best examples that we can be.

Our Mondays, they morph in to our Tuesdays and to our Wednesdays, so by Friday, we're still as excited as we are on Monday.

So my tip to you, you want a good Friday, a fantastic Saturday, you got to start off with a great Monday because Mondays are the keys to our success."
