WILLIAMSBURG, Va. -- In a year when businesses must adapt in order to stay relevant during the pandemic, Busch Gardens® Williamsburg announced a big change.
"For the first time ever, Busch Gardens will open in January, February, and early March," a park spokesperson wrote in an email Tuesday.
The new outdoor events are:
- Winter Weekends
- Mardi Gras
- St. Patrick’s Day Celebration
Busch Gardens Winter Weekends (Jan 15 – 24)
This limited capacity special event will feature lights, rides, and wildlife attractions.
"Park-goers can celebrate the New Year in a winter wonderland of fun by strolling through villages filled with beautiful lights at night, braving the thrills of 13 rides including three roller coasters and Sesame Street® Forest of Fun™, encountering unique animals not normally featured at the park, participating in special kid activities, and viewing a spectacular fireworks finale on Saturday evenings," the park spokesperson detailed.
Winter Weekends will be offered Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, Jan. 15 – 24, with day and evening sessions available. Reservations are required.Click here for more information.
Mardi Gras (Jan 29 – Feb 28)
Busch Gardens will transform into New Orleans with rides, live music, Cajun food, and cocktails.

Details about the St. Patrick’s Day Celebration were not readily available.
Park-goers should expect to wear face coverings and undergo temperature screenings.
