RICHMOND, Va. -- There's a new, pandemic friendly business concept in Richmond called Common Eats.
Owner Tori Stowers says they source food from Richmond chefs and bakers and they sell the items using a drive-thru format.
Tuesday, Common Eats held their first pop-up event at Seventh Street Christian Church on Grove Avenue in Richmond.
Stowers says she wanted to provide a convenient way for people to stock up on some of their favorite locally made foods.
Some of those favorites include Antbear Bakery, Pearls Bake Shoppe, and elegant cuizine.
"Before I had kids, I loved going out to all the local Richmond restaurants and trying new food and trying new restaurants," said Stowers. "When I had kids, I found that really difficult, just because kids were in the car seat. And plus the pandemic has really made that even worse. So, I was having a real problem trying to support local and try new things locally."
Stowers says 10% of their proceeds are donated to the Autism Society of Central Virginia.
