RICHMOND, Va. -- Boka Tako has both a food truck and sit down restaurant, Boka Grill, located off Sheila Lane on Richmond's southside.

Like most restaurants, 2020 has been a challenging year due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Owner partner Erik Lankenau said because of the size of the restaurant, and for the safety of the staff, Boka Grill was forced to go to take-out only.

However, he says the community and their Tako truck have helped keep the business alive.

"The neighborhoods have supported us a lot and helped keep us going," said Lankenau. "Out in the neighborhoods, serving people while social distancing. We have minimal contact. You order online, pick a time slot, show up to the truck and pick it up. You know there's been a lot of speed bumps along the way. We are just trying to get through it in the safest way possible."

Lankenau says he knows a lot of small businesses are struggling at this time, so they appreciate the support.
