RICHMOND, Va. -- After more than three years, the public health emergency that was put in place in response to the COVID-19 pandemic will end.

The federal government is lifting the emergency order, effective May 11.

Dr. Laurie Forlano, acting state epidemiologist, discusses what this news means for Virginia.
