RICHMOND, Va. - Today would have been Opening Day for the Richmond Flying Squirrels baseball team. The Diamond may not be open to the public but it surely isn’t empty. Todd “Parney” Parnell began walking the bases at 6:35 a.m. to raise money for the “500 Bases of Love” campaign, which benefits Richmond-area organizations who are assisting with COVID-19 relief efforts. The Flying Squirrels are collecting donations of $25 for each base Parney hits and $100 for each lap. You can make a donation to the campaign by texting “BasesOfLove” to 76278 or by clicking here to make a donation online.
