RICHMOND, Va. -- An area of low pressure will be in the region for most of the week. This will keep additional cloud cover and chances for rain around each day through Friday.
Rain chances will increase Tuesday and Wednesday into Thursday.
Rain chances will be highest across southside Virginia, where over two inches of rain may fall this week. Rain chances will be lowest well north of Interstate 64.
With the clouds, rain chances and an easterly wind, temperatures will remain below normal most of the week. Highs across southside Virginia may stay in the 60s Monday-Wednesday.
As the area of low pressure lifts off to the east, hotter and more humid weather will return next weekend.
The summer solstice occurs late Saturday afternoon.
