RICHMOND, Va. -- Before a cold front passed late on Sunday, highs made it into the 70s. Monday will be cooler with highs in the upper 50s and lower 60s.

A second cold front will pass on Tuesday, and this will bring sharply colder weather in for the middle of the week.

Lows Wednesday morning will be near or below freezing for most areas away from the immediate coast.

Highs Wednesday will fail to reach 50 across central and eastern Virginia.

We will have widespread lows in the 20s to around 30 Thursday morning. The immediate coastline will be near or slightly above freezing.

These will be the coldest temperatures since last winter.

Temperatures will moderate the rest of the week with highs getting back into the 60s Friday through the weekend.
