Hour-by-hour look at Thursday ice storm
A winter storm warning is in effect for most of Virginia from late tonight through early Friday morning.
A combination of wintry precipitation will occur across the area, with heavy amounts of snow across far northern and northwest Virginia, and heavy sleet and freezing rain farther south. Numerous power outages are likely with this storm.
The wintry weather will be heaviest between 5 a.m. and noon Thursday, with lighter amounts for the rest of the warning period.
