DINWIDDIE COUNTY, Va. -- Virginia State Police is searching for a convicted sex offender who is wanted for failing to register with the Virginia Sex Offender and Crimes Against Minors Registry.
The Virginia State Police Sex Offender Investigative Unit is asking for the public's assistance in locating 45-year-old Charlton Leemon Evans.
Investigators say Evans was last seen was living at an address on Ford Avenue in North Dinwiddie up until about a week ago. He is believed to still be in the greater Petersburg area.
Evans is 5'11 in tall and weighs approximately 175 lbs. He has black hair and brown eyes.
Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call State Police at (800) 552-9965. Tips may also be left on the registry’s website. Tips can be left anonymously.
