RICHMOND, Va. -- Virginia's Union University's 113-year-old football stadium is getting a makeover.
Hovey Field, used by Virginia Union University since 1907, is the second-oldest college football stadium still in use in the United States, and is the oldest natural grass football stadium in the country.
Harvard Stadium, built in 1903, is the only older college football stadium still in use.
The stadium is currently being excavated to prepare for the installation of Field Turf.
