RICHMOND, Va.-- Virginians who participate in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) will receive more emergency benefits this month.
The benefits are part of the Virginia Department of Social Services’ ongoing effort to help households meet food needs during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Benefits will be automatically loaded to recipients’ Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) cards by Sunday, August 16th.
Currently, it’s unknown if there will be more emergency benefits given after August, but anyone with questions about their benefits should contact their local department of social services.
