RICHMOND, Va. – Using his Virginia Lottery winnings to buy another ticket has changed the life of one Dinwiddie County man.

It all started when Gregory Wilson won $50 on a Virginia lottery game at the Food Lion on Westgate Drive in Petersburg.

Wilson decided to use part of his winnings on a "50X the Money" lottery ticket.

It was a $200,000 decision.

Even Wilson didn’t believe it at first.

“Do I need glasses?” Wilson recalled.

After examining it more closely, it still appeared to be a $200,000 winning ticket.

“Nah, there’s a catch,” he thought.

There’s no catch. Wilson won $200,000.

The Dinwiddie man said he plans to invest his winnings.

Lottery officials said the 50X The Money game is closed because all three $5 million top prizes have been claimed. Players have until December 2 to redeem winning tickets in the game.
