RICHMOND, Va. -- Tommie the dog died in 2019 after he was doused in gasoline and set on fire in Richmond.
Since then, a "Team Tommie" license plate has been in the works so drivers can honor him all across the state.
Richmond Animal Care and Control said on Friday that the DMV is handling all inquires for everyone who pre-ordered a plate.
The pandemic has slowed production but they're hoping for a 2021 release date.
