RICHMOND, Va. -- Police are looking for suspects after two victims were robbed and assaulted during a violent confrontation at the Circle on Monument Avenue.

Police say the incident occurred on Wednesday, July 15 at approximately 10:20 p.m.

Two victims reported being robbed at the circle at Monument Avenue and Allen Avenue, where the Robert E. Lee statue is located.

"One victim was carrying a rifle. An argument started and both victims were assaulted. A suspect then chased one victim, displayed a handgun, and demanded the victim to drop the rifle. The victim complied and the two then fled the area, according to a Richmond Police spokesperson.

Both victims suffered non-life threatening injuries.
