HOPEWELL, Va. -- A positive COVID-19 case involving a Hopewell City Schools employee is causing some temporary changes.

School officials announced Wednesday that they learned a transportation employee tested positive for coronavirus.

That case impacts students who are transported to both Woodlawn Learning Center and Hopewell High School for in-person learning.

Students and staff members who may have had contact with the transportation employee were notified and asked to quarantine.

As a result, officials say some classes have transitioned online through Friday. Students in those identified classes have been notified.

All other activities at both the high school and learning center are continuing as planned, including SOL testing at the high school.
