RICHMOND, Va. -- After being closed for nearly six months due to the coronavirus pandemic, the Science Museum of Virginia reopened Saturday.
The Museum is open 9:30 a.m. - 5 p.m. and ticketed guests can now visit the museum at pre-reserved times.
The Science Museum will be open on Labor Day, but starting September 13, the museum will be open Tuesday through Sunday and will be closed Mondays for deep cleaning.
"The health and safety of everyone who walks through our doors has always been our top priority," the museum said on it's website. "We have developed a plan that is guided by recommendations from public health officials and from the best practices of museums throughout the country. We will be welcoming back guests at a slow, methodical pace and will monitor operations in real time, making adjustments along the way."
New reopening policies includes those age 10 and older will be required to wear a mask and guests are asked to follow social distancing, keeping six feet from other guests.
Additionally, additional hand sanitizing stations have been installed throughout the Museum for guests.
