RICHMOND, Va. -- Vegas baby, Vegas! JetBlue airline announced Thursday it would add direct flights from Richmond International Airport to Las Vegas, Los Angeles, and Tampa, Florida.
It's part of the airline's overall expansion, adding 24 routes nationwide.
"Every market has been uniquely identified as one in which JetBlue anticipates increasing demand for leisure travel. All new flights take off in November and December with seats on sale today," an airline spokesperson said.
- A daily flight from Richmond to Tampa, Florida will begin on November 19, 2020.
- A daily flight from Richmond to Los Angeles will begin on December 18, 2020.
- A daily flight from Richmond to Las Vegas will begin on December 18, 2020.
"Richmond International Airport welcomes JetBlue’s historic news this morning, announcing the airport’s first-ever transcontinental option to Los Angeles, first-ever service to Las Vegas, and new nonstop service to Tampa,” Capital Region Airport Commission chairman Patricia O’Bannon said in an emailed statement. “Each of the three destinations are popular for Richmond region travelers and the flights certainly make it easier than ever for visitors to enjoy the attractions of Virginia’s Capital Region.”
