RICHMOND, Va. -- Hundreds of kids will have a brand new set of wheels Saturday thanks to a Richmond church.

This weekend, Worship and Praise Church will host their annual Bikes for Christ giveaway event for families in need.

Pastor Timothy Kirven and the church congregation have sponsored the event for five years, but will look a little different this year.

"We’re doing a grab and go bike campaign because of the pandemic and so all of our people who have registered for a bike will be driving by and picking up a bike and pulling off," Kirven said.

The event will be at 12:00 p.m. on December 19 at 3006 East Laburnum Avenue.

"I’m telling you the people have really opened up their hearts this year. We’re giving away more bikes in this pandemic than we did last year," Kirven said.
