HOPEWELL, Va.—The City of Hopewell is launching a citywide program to distribute personal protective equipment (PPE) to help residents during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The door-to-door distribution will begin the week of August 10 and will continue until completed.

Each household will receive a yellow PPE kit with two cloth face coverings, hand sanitizer, and COVID-19 resource materials.

The distribution program has been made possible through the state’s Health Equity Program in addition to city procurement of necessary supplies. The program’s focus is to make supplies and resources available to all Hopewell residents, ensuring that vulnerable populations and underserved areas are not excluded.

Specific neighborhood distribution will be announced each day on City department social media platforms.

PPE kits will not be delivered to homes located on private drives or homes with No Trespassing/Private Property signage, off-leash animals, or other safety concerns.

Special arrangements are being made for distribution to apartment complexes with restricted access.

If you do not receive a kit because of one of these reasons or would like additional information, please contact the Hopewell Recreation and Parks Department at (804) 541-2353
