Police identify 20-year-old killed in Chesterfield crash

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. -- Police have identified a 20-year-old man killed in a crash early Sunday morning in Chesterfield.

Officers were called to the 4200 block of Meadowdale Boulevard, near Hopkins Road, at about 2 a.m. Sunday, August 16.

Police say their investigation indicates a 2008 Honda Civic was traveling west on Meadowdale Boulevard when it ran a red light and struck a 2012 Toyota Scion TC that was traveling south on Hopkins Road.

The driver of the Toyota, Justus M. Taylor, 20, of Chesterfield, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.

Police say the driver of the Honda, 20-year-old Francisco J. Beltran Perez, was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. He remains hospitalized.

Beltran has been issued summonses for driving under the influence and no operators license.

Police say continue their investigation into the crash and additional charges are pending against Beltran.
