PETERSBURG, Va. -- The City of Petersburg has received 20,000 of COVID-19 Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as part of Gov. Northam’s Health Equity Pilot Program, which aims to increase equitable access to PPE in underserved communities that may be most impacted by the virus.

Petersburg has divided the PPE to distribute among the City’s public housing communities, senior residents, schools, and throughout the community.

The city will conduct a major distribution day on Friday, June 12 beginning at 10:30 a.m. This will include Petersburg Police, Fire and community volunteers going door-to-door to distribute masks, hand sanitizer, and a local resource guide.
