Petersburg man wanted in domestic incident that left woman injured

PETERSBURG, Va. -- Petersburg Police are searching for a man wanted in connection to a domestic incident Tuesday evening that left a woman injured.

Officers were called to the 1600 block of Montpelier Street for the report of a person shot at approximately 6:46 p.m.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found a woman suffering from injuries to her right arm and neck.

Police say the woman was transported to the hospital where medical staff determined that she had not been shot, only struck by fragments of glass.

Police say their investigation revealed that the incident was domestic related, and warrants have been obtained for the suspect, 23-year-old James Bell, who remains at large.

The Petersburg man is wanted for malicious wounding, strangulation, and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.
