DINWIDDIE COUNTY, Va. -- Virginia State Police has identified a Petersburg man killed in a crash in Dinwiddie County early Friday morning.
State police responded to a crash in the 11000 block of Boydton Plank Road (Route 1) at 2:14 a.m.
"The preliminary investigation reveals that a 2003 Volkswagen Passat was headed south when the vehicle ran off the road to the right. The Passat came back onto the roadway, then ran off the road left and struck a flatbed tractor trailer that was parked off the roadway," said a state police spokesperson.
The driver, 54-year-old D’Quincy Person, was pronounded dead at the scene. Person, the sole occupant of the vehicle, was not wearing his seatbelt, according to police.
The investigation is ongoing.
