PETERSBURG, Va. -- No one was injured early Wednesday morning when a fire truck was hit on Interstate 85 in Petersburg.
Petersburg Fire tells CBS 6 that one of their fire trucks was providing a blocking assignment for an accident on I-85 when it was struck by a Mazda SUV.
The fire truck was stopped in the northbound lane of I-85 at the 67 mile marker when it was struck at 12:31 a.m.
Virginia State Police says there were no crew members inside the fire truck when it was struck. Additionally, there were no injuries reported at the scene or with the driver of the Mazda.
The fire struck suffered damage to its front bumper and headlight, according to Petersburg Fire.
