RICHMOND, Va. -- After decades of rocking Virginia Tech football fans through Lane Stadium's sound system, Metallica is visiting Blacksburg to shake the stadium for the first time — in person.
The band confirmed this week that a new leg of its M72 World Tour will include the home to the Hokies.
Metallica's "Enter Sandman" is played every time Virginia Tech's football team runs out onto the field before each home game.
The experience has become one of the most sublime in college football.
Tickets for the May 7, 2025 concert go on sale next with early purchase opportunities available to some fans, including Virginia Tech students.
