PETERSBURG, Va. -- Police have identified a man killed in a Petersburg shooting late Friday afternoon.
Officers were called to a report of a person shot on Wythe Street and S. Street at 3:30 p.m.
On scene, they found 20-year-old Sherman Xavier Miffin of Petersburg with a life-threatening gunshot wound. Miffin was transported to the hospital where he later died of his injuries.
The incident is still under investigation.
