CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. -- The man shot during a fight inside Chesterfield Towne Center has died, according to Chesterfield Police. Kimani O. Donovan, 22, was rushed to the hospital with life-threatening injuries following the June 23 shooting. He died July 5at the hospital, police said.
"At about 6:10 p.m. on June 23, police responded to a report of a shooting in the food court at Chesterfield Towne Center. Once on scene, officers located one adult male victim who had been shot," a Chesterfield Police spokesperson said.
Video from the shooting showed a fight between two men leading up to the shooting.
The men were arguing over a face mask, multiple Crime Insider sources told Jon Burkett. The exact nature of the argument was not disclosed.
William Ezell Taylor Jr., 23, of Petersburg, was arrested one day after the shooting. He remains incarcerated at Riverside Regional Jail without bond.
