Man shot at Richmond apartment complex

RICHMOND, Va. -- Richmond Police are investigating a shooting at a Richmond apartment complex that sent one man to the hospital with serious injuries.

Officers were called to the 3900 block of Chamberlayne Avenue for the report of a person shot at approximately 11:01 a.m.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found a man in the parking lot of the apartment building suffering from a gunshot wound.

The victim was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

"This apartment is on a major thoroughfare and detectives hope that someone in the area at the time of the shooting can provide information to detectives," said a Richmond Police spokesperson.
