Man found dead in driver's seat of Richmond car

RICHMOND, Va. -- Richmond Police are investigating a deadly Monday night shooting on Broad Rock Boulevard and South Kinsley Avenue.

"At approximately 7:52 p.m., officers received a call for a vehicle accident at the intersection of Broad Rock Boulevard and South Kinsley Avenue." a Richmond Police spokesperson wrote in an email. "The call was quickly upgraded to a person shot."

A man was found shot and killed in the driver's seat.

Detectives believe the shooting occurred on the north side of Broad Rock Boulevard in the 4100 block of Kinsley Avenue.

"Officers were also called to the 2600 block of Broad Rock Boulevard for the report of a vehicle that was struck by gunfire," a Richmond Police spokesperson's email continued. "The driver was injured by broken glass. The victim’s vehicle was struck by gunfire while driving through the same intersection."
