Emporia man killed in motorcycle crash ran into ditch, troopers say

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, Va. -- Troopers have released the name of a 66-year-old Emporia man killed in a motorcycle crash in Brunswick County Sunday afternoon.

State police were called to the single-vehicle crash with injuries on Dry Bread Road west of Reavis Gin Road just after 2:40 p.m.

Troopers said Jerry Wayne Hubbard, of the 400 block of Cleveland Avenue in Emporia, was driving a Harley Davidson motorcycle when he lost control, ran off the road into a ditch.

Officials said the victim was ejected in the crash.

Hubbard was taken to Southern Virginia Regional Medical Center where he later died of his injuries, officials said.

Neither speed nor alcohol were factors in the wreck, investigators said.

Deceased: 66 year old Jerry Wayne Hubbard, of the 400 block of Cleveland Avenue, Emporia, Virginia.
