WOODBRIDGE, Va. -- A game of hide-and-seek went terribly wrong for one teenager in northern Virginia Sunday.
Amari Dancy said she was playing with her younger relatives when she took a look at the family's washing machine and thought it would make a wonderful hiding spot.
However, once the 18-year-old managed to lower herself into the machine and close the lid, she realized she could not get out.
As a result, her family ended up calling Prince William County Department of Fire and Rescue to free her.
“So the fire department came in and introduced themselves and then asked her name and what happened,” Suni Dancy, Amari’s aunt who posted video of the rescue on Instagram, told WRC-TV.“She said, ‘Well, I was playing hide-and-seek,’ and he said, ‘Well, did you win?’”
Dancy said she felt relieved once crews figured out how to get her out.
"I just wanted to be out of there,” she told WRC-TV.
