HENRICO COUNTY, Va. -- Caroline Lonigro, 22, of Henrico, was killed Saturday evening at the intersection of Patterson Avenue and Lauderdale Drive in the county's far West End.
"A preliminary investigation revealed that a grey 2020 Hyundai Elantra [driven by Lonigro] was stopped at the red light on Lauderdale Drive in the left turn lane. A Chevrolet Silverado was traveling west on Patterson Avenue towards Goochland County," a Henrico Police spokesperson wrote in an email. "The preliminary investigation reveals the Elantra proceeded under a green light when a crash occurred in the intersection between the Silverado and the Hyundai sedan."
Lonigro was taken to VCU Medical Center where she died.
The driver of the pickup truck remained at the scene of the crash.
"There are no charges, as the crash remains under investigation by the Henrico Police Crash Team," the police spokesperson wrote.
The crash was reported at about 5:37 p.m.
