HENRICO COUNTY, Va. – Authorities said two people were hurt in a crash involving an SUV and an ambulance at a busy Henrico County intersection Wednesday afternoon.
Firefighters said the wreck happened at the intersection of West Broad Street and Gaskins Road just after 11:15 a.m.
"While responding to an emergency call an ambulance from the Lakeside Volunteer Rescue Squad was involved in a crash with a civilian vehicle," Henrico Fire Deputy Chief Tom LaBelle.

Officials said the driver of the SUV and a member of the rescue squad were taken to area hospitals with injuries that were not life-threatening.
No additional details were available at last check.
Police urged drivers to use alternate routes until the scene was cleared.
Officials said the cause of the crash remains under investigation.
