RICHMOND, Va. -- GRTC is urging riders to sanitize their hands the next time they get on the bus. The transit system announced Monday that on-board hand sanitizer dispensers are now available on all buses and CARE vans.
“On buses, the dispenser is by the rear door. On CARE vans, the dispenser is between the rear driver's side windows,” a GRTC spokesperson explained. “Please use the sanitizer when you board and exit.”
Earlier this month, GRTC announced bus drivers were offered locally-made face shields as an added layer of protection amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
Five GRTC employees have tested positive for COVID-19 since March.
