Man critically injured in Gilpin Court shooting, police say

RICHMOND, Va. — A man was critically injured in a shooting in Richmond's Gilpin Court neighborhood on Friday night, Crime Insider sources tell Jon Burkett.

Officers were called to the 200 Block of W Charity Street just before 9:30 p.m., according to Capt. Frank Scarpa with Richmond Police.

The shooting happened along Charity Street before 10 p.m.

"Officers encountered an adult male with an apparent gunshot wound," Scarpa said. "The victim was transported to a local hospital with a life-threatening injury."

No additional details were available at last check, but the investigation into the incident is ongoing, police said.
