DINWIDDIE COUNTY, Va. -- A fire destroyed a house late Sunday night, leaving a family without a home, according to fire officials.
Dinwiddie Fire and EMS Captain Nick Sheffield said the two adults, child and two pets that were inside the single-family house were able to escape without any injuries. However, the home is considered a total loss.
No firefighters were injured in responding, said Sheffield.
The fire happened around 10 p.m. and the cause is still under investigation, so Sheffield cannot say whether or not it was related to the restoration of power in the area following the weekend's storm.
