RICHMOND, Va. -- A Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) orderhas temporarily banned drones over and near the Robert E. Lee statue site on Monument Avenue.

The order took effect at midnight Tuesday and will remain in place until 11:59 p.m. on Thursday while the statue is being removed.

The ban covers a two-nautical-mile radius around the statue.

The order stated the reason for the ban was for special security.
