Driver arrested after deadly Chesterfield crash

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. -- A 20-year-old Chesterfield driver was charged in a drunk driving crash that killed another driver.

Francisco J. Beltran Perez was taken to Riverside Regional Jail following his arrest on DUI - involuntary manslaughter, unlawful possession of alcohol, and disregarding a traffic light charges in connection to the August 16 crash.

"A 2008 Honda Civic [driven by Beltran Perez] was traveling west on Meadowdale Boulevard at about 2 a.m. when it ran a red light and struck a 2012 Toyota Scion TC that was traveling south on Hopkins Road," a Chesterfield Police spokesperson said.

Justus M. Taylor, 20, of Chesterfield died at the scene of the crash.

Beltran Perez sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
